Thank you so much, Professor Tanya, for encouraging me to apply for the internship at Brooklyn College. Initially, I lacked confidence and doubted if I would receive the internship offer. However, your encouragement gave me the courage to apply. Thank you, Professor Tanya, for your support.

A big thank you to my internship supervisor, Isana. You are truly a wonderful supervisor. I appreciate your kindness and patience, and for providing me with the opportunity to intern at Brooklyn College.

I was very interested in this video because when I was looking for an internship I saw a lot of internships seeking this skill. It makes me realize the need for video editing. I did some simple editing on the recording presentation before, so I like how to make some sense or add subtitles. But what I learned from the video is more advanced and the video was detailed enough so I was able to learn more skills in video editing. Such as how to manage the clip and it gave me a lot of tips on how to increase our effectiveness. I know to remove the green screen effect which was new to me. How to use the masks. if I have a strong and fast computer I will want to try the skill that I learn to create a real-time playback with all the effects that I learn. With all the skills in the video and our design, I think we would be able to make a clip. it will take a lot of time but it is possible now.

Final edit (internship)

This week has been really busy for me as an intern, working three days a week for a total of 15 hours. Each day presented different tasks for me.

On Monday, I received a text from Isana asking me to package the cover designs I had adjusted for color and upload them to Google Drive. Uncertain about what a package file entailed, I didn’t ask Isana or search for it. Instead, I combined the covers with the same blue into a PDF and divided them into several PDFs using different warmer blue shades. I then placed them in a folder and uploaded them to Google Drive. However, this approach was incorrect, and I wasted time due to my assumption. I’m grateful for Isana’s patience and detailed guidance in redirecting me. She provided tutorials on how to package files using both Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator, unsure which application I used. I genuinely appreciate her help.

On Tuesday, John and Tarique were in charge of the report’s typography, while I confirmed if the cover size matched the report size. I initially texted Tarique, but upon not receiving a reply, I asked in the group chat. I was informed that the size was 8.5×11, which matched the report size. After confirming, I made some adjustments and exported the covers as PNG files, uploading them to Google Drive. I then informed them of the folder location in the group chat. However, I later learned that the cover size was incorrect, and they provided the correct size, 5.5×8.5, along with other necessary changes. Upon receiving this information, I immediately made the adjustments and followed the same process to update the covers on Google Drive.

On Thursday, I took on the task of editing the typography of the report. Isana mentioned that I would likely be the final editor as the report had undergone three simultaneous edits. Meanwhile, Isana received all the updated data for the fact sheets. Since I was responsible for editing the report, Isana assigned different sections of the fact sheets to Manjie, Dariann, and Tarique. As John’s internship was coming to an end, Isana didn’t assign him any tasks. Isana and I communicated via iMessage to edit the report as it allowed real-time sending and receiving. We made numerous adjustments to details such as pattern placement, leading, indentation, image positioning, and adding and correcting text. Once we were satisfied with the edits, we packaged the report and covers and uploaded them to Google Drive. With that, I completed all my tasks, and Isana mentioned she would reach out if any further revisions were needed.
