My name is Monica Wright and I am a registered nurse in the state of New York. I graduated from New York City College of Technology 30 years ago with an associate degree in nursing and have recently decided to return and complete my BS degree in Nursing. Since starting the BS program I have gained a new perspective on the need for advanced education and the role it plays in providing best practice care, improving patient outcomes, enacting health care policy changes, as well as in moving the nursing profession forward. As a professional nurse I am obligated to providing care of highest quality and advancing my education will increase my competence and better enable me to care for and become a leader in caring for and addressing the needs of individuals in todays complex health care society.
