HOLISTIC HEALTH FAIR FOR SENIORS 2015

We collected the data every Wednesday from 9am-12:30pm at the Stein Senior Center that is located at 204 East 23rd Street, New York, NY 10010 and the Gramercy community. After designing the procedure and gathering the materials we put together our project. Part V

Overall objective of this project is to support and address all aspects of wellness. We view each person as a whole person- body, mind and spirit. Therefore, we believe that the health care approach is interdisciplinary and encompassing. It is important, then, for that approach to be culturally and spiritually sensitive. In addition, health care professionals need to be empowered with the capacity, skills, and knowledge to respond to the unique needs of each patient and their loved ones. By doing this project we would like to increase awareness about our state of health by providing screenings, activities, materials, demonstrations and information. We would like to motivate participants to make positive health behavior changes and teach self-care practices. On completion of this learning project, the individual will:

  1. Identify and acknowledge one’s health and wellness and teach self-care practices.
  2. Be motivated to make positive health behavior changes.
  3. Describe the various components of staying healthy.
  4. Increase visibility of health and wellness resources within community.

5.Increase personal health awareness.
