Arestin Placement Experience
Overall, my experience with the Arestin product was very educational and satisfying.
I was able to place Arestin on three different patients this semester. Two patients received post-treatment evaluation after 4-5 weeks and the third patient will return for evaluation during the 4th semester. For the first two patients, no reduction in probing depths was noted but I am hopeful that the third patient will display a better outcome upon re-evaluation.
The Arestin placement itself was very manageable once I placed the first 2 tips. It was hard, at first, to find the correct angle for placement because the syringe is a lot bigger than our regular instruments. Once I placed the first two cartridge tips, I was able to feel comfortable with the rest. I look forward to helping more patients with this product during my 4rth semester.
