1-The Topics/Objectif that kept my attention in Healthy People 2020 is: ā€œMental health and mental disordersā€.Ā  Depression is a serious disorder that affects the lives of many American and for the most part these people go undiagnosed.Ā  For the few that are actually diagnosed, less than half of them actually receive adequate treatment.Ā  In a study conducted through survey by the medical expenditure Panel for the Unites Stated, of the 46,417 responses received, approximately 8.4% screened positive for depression, of which only one-half received treatment and only half of that actually were positive screened by clinicians. (Olfson et al., 2016). Ā Ā This prove that there is treatment gaps in healthcare, since pharmacological management of depression (antidepressant) are at its highest use. Ā These gaps are directly related to income, neighborhood/ communities,, education and insurance. This also raises concern about how we are treating depression. Manifestation of depression can vary from mild to severe and the researchers have concluded that there are no standards to modifying treatment on case by case terms, and the use and promotion of integrated care models might help make depression management more effective.

3-Evethough, we learned about disaster preparedness, I was very surprised to find out it is one of the Topics/ Objectives of Healthy People 2020. Preparedness isĀ  defined by FEMA ( FederalĀ  Emergency ManagementĀ  Agency ) asĀ  a constantĀ  cycle of planning , evaluatingĀ  in an effort to ensureĀ  adequate response in case of disasters. Ā Disaster can be natural, acts of terrorism.
