Hello, my name is Milagros Lugo. Welcome to my e-portfolio and thank you for taking the time to read about my journey on becoming a Dental Hygienist!
Throughout my professional career I always knew I wanted to help people and make a difference in their life. Despite not having any previous experience in the Dental field, I understood the importance of patient education and patient care from personal experience. I recognized its lack in the Dental field and the damage it can do, especially in disadvantaged communities. I grew an interest in the Dental Hygiene field and became fascinated with the link between oral health and overall health. This led me to decide to pursue a degree in this field to contribute to that change.
I am honored to have been able to have attended and graduated a rigorous yet prestigious program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation. I have developed a sincere appreciation for the Dental Hygiene field, as well as the importance of oral health education and preventative care.
As a Dental Hygienist, I aspire to be able to provide high quality standard of care to the community that makes them feel safe, seen and advocated for. I keenly look forward to my professional and personal growth as I commit to improve my knowledge and skills that will benefit the oral health of the public.
