Never in my wildest dreams, I thought that I would be practicing as a Nurse. When my father was diagnosed with kidney failure 15 years ago, It was a scary time for me and my family. Myself, my mother and siblings were not aware of the medical illness (kidney failure) and what it entailed, further, I remember the Doctor using medical jargon to communicate with my mother, where English is a second language for her. Also, I remember feeling helpless and frustrated because I could not advocate for my father. Consequently, this experience led me to reconsider my major and embark on the journey of being a nurse.

My strength as an individual derives from my genetic make-up, up-bringing and overall experience in life. I am a very caring, humble, and compassionate individual, I find it gratifying to help those in need; particularly vulnerable people.  I have good communication and interpersonal skills which is essential for engaging, and interacting with people. My goal is to embark in a career within the nursing profession that will allow me to utilize my strength to help those in need.
