Chapter Headings

Chapter 1:  Examining the vehicle.

– Summary: Looking for dents, scratches and any other imperfection before starting to sand the vehicle down. If any imperfection found, you would fix it before going into sanding down the entire vehicle and removing all the previous paint. At this post you would determine the color you want to paint the vehicle and how are you going to go about doing that.

Chapter 2: Sanding

– Summary: Sanding down so that you are removing all previous paint, until the surface is flat.

Chapter 3: Prepping

– Summary: Cleaning and masking off the vehicle with the proper tools.

Chapter 4: Refinishing

–  Summary:  Students will learn to apply primer, basecoat, intermediate coat (if applicable) and clear coat. Students will also be able to determine if they would want to use a water-based paint or a primary solvent base. Students will be able to understand how to use a spraying gun, and the different brands of guns that can be used.

Chapter 5: Imperfections

– Summary: Throughout each steps students will be able to go look to see if the stage they are at has any imperfections such as fisheyes, pinholes, excessive orange peels and etc.

  1. Great! These topics look great! I would like to see some sort of introduction of the entire topic to start with as well.

    The summaries are a great idea as well!
