This course provides an overview and analysis of current color, fiber, and fashion trends, examining their impact on sales forecasting. Students will engage in research and analysis to develop fashion forecasts for specific seasons in the apparel industry. The curriculum covers how to predict future trends in color, fabric, silhouettes, and textures, and how to integrate these findings into comprehensive trend forecasts and merchandising plans. Students will create mood boards, flat sketches, and detailed specifications. Additionally, they will learn to present these ideas in a format that is clear and actionable for pattern makers and other producers at the primary level of fashion.
