Introduction

My name is Melissa Ip. I got my first introduction into Nursing in 2005 when I was accepted into the LPN program at Medgar Evers College. After graduation in 2007, I started working in a home care agency with my certification. I realized that in order to attain my goal of making a difference in the care that is delivered everyday to our patients, I had to first make a difference in myself. I applied to the New York City College of Technology in 2008 and began my goal of becoming an RN. I graduated from the A.A.S in Nursing program in June 2011 and immediately went into the Baccalaureate program in August 2011. My anticipated graduation date is August 2013. Currently, I have not started working as an RN yet, but I am still actively pursuing the start to my profession.
