Professional Internship I and II
I was Placed at Brooklyn Community Services-Metro Club Pros (Personalized Recovery Oriented Services) located at 25 Chapel st. Brooklyn N.Y. At BCS the population that attend for services are individuals with Bi-polar disorder and Schizophrenia. A lot of these individuals are high functioning but they also may need services in counseling, medical services, group workshops and community interaction. The tasks I was assigned to was facilitating workshops, one-on-one counseling, and note taking such as general individual notes as well as assessments. Being placed at this internship helped me to work on many skills taught in Human Service classes, I was really able to implement and build on my confidence working with individuals and speaking in groups.
