Mission Statement

The Office of Veteran Support Services (OVSS) at New York City College of Technology is dedicated to providing culturally responsive enrollment, academic and transitional support to student veterans, military personnel and their dependents. OVSS provides guidance and information on all federal, state and municipal educational and support programs for veterans and their families. OVSS aims to ease transition from military life to scholar by providing a wide array of programs, services, resources, and activities on campus that support student veterans and encourage post-graduate success. As a specialized unit of New York City College of Technology’s Department of Counseling, OVSS also provides short-term personal, academic and career counseling to student veterans, military personnel, and dependent students.

We believe in empowerment of our student veterans through education, advocacy, and community building. By providing an environment that is culturally responsive to student veterans, we seek to provide a foundation that encourages student personal and academic growth. We envision veteran graduates that are strong, resilient, and prepared to meet any challenge.
