Ray­mond Tang Kemar White Sta­tion­ary Nerf Sen­try Gun Our idea for our final pro­ject is a sta­tion­ary nerf sen­try gun. A sen­try gun is able to au­to­mat­i­cally aim and fire at tar­gets. There­fore it will have two stan­dard servo mo­tors to help it pan, and two con­tin­u­ous ro­ta­tion servo mo­tors to as­sist with the fir­ing. We will use the IOIO mi­cro­con­troller to help us achieve all this. Com­mu­ni­ca­tion will occur through a Blue­tooth con­nec­tion be­tween the IOIO board and an An­droid de­vice run­ning our app. The app will also allow for man­ual con­trol. With a cam­era at­tached, it will be able to sense tar­gets with a face-recog­ni­tion al­go­rithm. Upon recog­ni­tion of the tar­get, the gun will open fire. To sta­bi­lize the gun, the base will be a tri­pod.

Raymond Tang Kemar White Stationary Nerf Sentry Gun Our idea for our final project is a stationary nerf sentry gun. A sentry gun is able to automatically aim and fire at targets. Therefore it will have two standard servo motors to help it pan, and two continuous rotation servo motors to assist with the firing. We will use the IOIO microcontroller to help us achieve all this. Communication will occur through a Bluetooth connection between the IOIO board and an Android device running our app. The app will also allow for manual control. With a camera attached, it will be able to sense targets with a face-recognition algorithm. Upon recognition of the target, the gun will open fire. To stabilize the gun, the base will be a tripod.
