Summer Solano’s Profile
Summer Solano is a Freelance Graphic Designer based out of New York City. She is currently attending New York City College of Technology known as City Tech to obtain her Bachelors degree. Prior to City Tech, Summer attended to Kingsborough Community College to develop a stable portfolio so she can apply to other colleges of her choice. In the Winter of 2018 Summer decided to create a Behance and Instagram page so it can help her develop clientele while she was attending college.
What made Summer become a Graphic Designer is that when she was attending Elementary and Middle school. The only class that she would look forward to is Art due to the fact that she felt like she can be herself and show off her talent. On other hand, Summer was obsessed with magazines and will purchase different monthly subscriptions whether it was fashion or National Geographic, Time for kids, and etc. She will look at them repeatedly.
At the age of 13, Summer made a decision on becoming a Graphic designer but didn’t know what to exactly concentrate on until Published by Sumz was found on December of 2018.

COMD3504 Communication Design Theory, Spring 2020
This course will offer an in-depth introduction to communication design theory, examining theoretical perspectives of design practice within the larger discourse of design and visual culture. Communication models, the nature of representation, the dimensions of context and semiotics will be explored through critical readings from key documents written between the early decades of the twentieth century and the present.
COMD4900 OL90 11316 Internship Summer 2021
Internship in Communication Design (Summer Intensive) Assignment to field work/study situations of approximately 25 plus hours per week at a graphic arts-related internship site approved by the department internship director. Sites may be in areas such as advertising, printing, corporate communications or publishing. Students keep a log/journal to be shared in group seminars/discussions. Supervision is by faculty and by the job supervisor. Students will be required to keep a learning journal of their internship in the form of a blog using Open Lab.
