Hello my Name is Simon Lei, my favorite color is red and im a graphic design major. I enjoy hanging out with friend, going to a nice place to eat or a group place to go bowling or the beach. I also enjoy going to the gym because health is very important and summer is coming up. I also enjoy watching movies at the theaters and being a couch potato and staying in. im a big fan of sneakers and collecting them. its very interesting to see the millions of designs for shoe ware, weather it was a good idea or not. the uniqueness of various designs always caught my attention and they say you can tell alot about a person just by looking at their shoes. im into interior design and how they layout of a room can be altered millions of ways to show comfort and various others based on feeling.

COMD Communication Design Internship Coordination Site

This site is designed to help you find fieldwork/study situations of approximately eight hours per week at an internship site approved by the Department Internship instructor such as an advertising agency, graphic design firm, corporate design office, publications art department, photography or illustration studio, TV or multimedia production company. Students will be required to keep a learning journal of their internship in the form of a blog using Openlab. A portion of the class will be devoted to presenting and sharing experiences with classmates. Students will learn how to assess their talents, update their resume, and promote themselves and their work through social networks. Students will be required to setup and maintain at least two social media networks such as: Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest. The instructors for this class are there as mentors if you have not yet found an internship before registering for the course. However, the instructors do not find an internship placement for you. It is your responsibility to find a position that fits your personal career path and help you transition to full time employment upon leaving the halls of CityTech. Ideally, you will use this site to find an internship the semester before taking the COMD 4900 class.

COMD3513 Narrative Illustration, SP2022

This course teaches students to create finished, professional-quality sequential illustrations combining words and pictures based on topical themes, autobiographical stories, and self-guided narratives. Topics and strategies include storytelling focusing on single-panel, multi-panel, and multiple-page sequential illustrated stories. Projects will be completed using an array of digital and traditional media. This class will focus on sequential art: sequential art can be comic books, graphic novels, children’s books, comic strips, and more. COMD3504 Communication Design Theory, OL69, Spring 2022

An in-depth introduction to communication design theory, this course examines theoretical perspectives of design practice within the larger discourse of design and visual culture. Communication models, the nature of representation, the dimensions of context, and semiotics are explored through critical readings in key documents from the early decades of the twentieth century to the present.

COMD 3533 Special Topics in Illustration (The Art of Children’s Books)

Strategies for creating professional illustrations based on a rotating series of topics relevant to contemporary professional illustration. Topics and strategies include: digital concept art (production art, card art, genre, etc.), Childrenā€™s Picture Book Illustration (research, pitch, marketing, layout, etc.), editorial. Students use both digital and traditional media. Class Notes: Fully Online Meets Online Synchronously. Enrollment Requirements: ENG 1121 and COMD 2400 or department permission.
