This model course is designed for use by faculty teaching MAT 1375 on the OpenLab – it includes a number of resources and sample assignments to help you get started. If you are a faculty member, you can “clone the course” to create a copy for your use, and customize it in whatever way you wish. CST 2410 – Introduction to Computer Security
This course is an introduction to security issues facing computer professionals today. Students will acquire the knowledge and skills on how to maintain the integrity, authenticity, availability and privacy of data. It covers computer viruses, authentication models, certificates, group policy, cryptography, and access control. It also introduces the fundamental security issues of programming, database and web server. Other topics include how to monitor the system for suspicious activity and fend off attacks, to keep spies and Spam out of the e-mail, to take control of security by encrypting data, to design Active directory, blocking ports, and locking down the registry.
My Projects
Cyberattacks on US Energy Companies
The purpose of this research report is to understand cyberattacks, give insight into instances where cyberattacks targeted US energy companies and talk about the measurements that were taken to mitigate these issues. Based on these precedents provide a recommendation for the most optimal solution.
