This course introduces the student to fundamental engineering concepts common to all engineering disciplines. Topics covered in this course include the history and development of engineering, the many approaches to creative problem solving, as well as a systematic approach to solving well-defined engineering problems. Students will also be introduced to the design process and emphasis will be placed on the importance of communication skills and engineering ethics.

Analysis of the technology education curriculum, instructional resources, facilities, management, maintenance, safety, and daily routines. Emphasis on New York State Learning Standards for Mathematics, Science, and Technology as a source of content.
