Rebecca Rivera is an award winning advertising professional turned advertising professor. During her 30+ years in the industry, she won an armload of “heavy metal” and helped her clients rack up sales.
Rebecca worked on both coasts as a Copywriter and Creative Director at ad agencies such DDB, RPA, Team One, TBWA, Digitas, and McCann – on everything from print to TV to social to digital to PR to alternative media to design to CRM – on accounts such as Honda, HBO, Tide, Lynda, Microsoft, Bud Light, T-Mobile, UppaBaby, and IBM, to name a few.
Rebecca is also a change agent. As the former CCO of The 3% Conference, she helped triple the organization in size and impact, championing gender equity for female creative directors within the industry.
Rebecca took a left turn into teaching with the goal of bringing her knowledge and experience into the classroom to help students become more business ready. She has an MPS from CCNY’s Branding + Integrated Communications program and a BA in Comparative Literature from Occidental College. She currently teaches in COMD at City Tech and the MCA AdPR program at CCNY.
