Omar Chowdhury’s Profile
My name is Omar Chowdhury and now I’m doing a major in Communication Design Management. This is currently my second semester semester at CityTech. My first semester I did a major in Computer Engineering. The reason for changing my major is because I wasn’t happy with it and didn’t feel like I would get the job in the future. I like any type of design myself but I also wanted to do something like business related as advertising, publishing or web designing. This is the reason why I chose Communication Design Management and now I’m happy with the major I have chose. I have taken an Art class in high school, and I also took a class in Art & Design and Book Design Illustration.
I live in the Bronx and I travel to Brooklyn by taking the train everyday. I have graduated from Bronx Health Sciences High School in June 2015. Now I’m in the City Tech Accelerated Study in Associate Program(ASAP). The classroom environment in CityTech reminds of high school even though there’s a lot of differences. I am proud to be a student at New York City College of Technology(NYCCT). I’m pretty sure at CityTech are offering a lot of great opportunities around us which is one thing I like. My goal is to be a great design manager even though I want to be a great designer even though I’m not perfect at drawing but I want to be responsible to make sure something gets done on time. One day I will make my future goal come true no matter how many obstacles I face especially in the real world.

This basic design and color theory course explores graphic communication through the understanding of the elements and principles of design, as well as the design process, including idea development through final execution. This is a course in visual literacy and the design process: How we see, how we analyze the effects of our vision, and how we craft a design that will have energy and content. All projects will include thumbnail sketches, discussion and research. A weekly scrapbook will be kept. Media used are paint, paper, ink, pencil, ruler, knife, glue, and digital software for expressing graphic ideas.
