This workshop focuses on helping new students transition to college life, and specifically to City Tech. The workshop will enhance the new student experience with additional information, activities, and various opportunities to connect with faculty, staff, and current City Tech students. In addition to learning how to access a variety of college services and resources, students will develop personalized plans for their college career.

This workshop focuses on helping new students transition to college life, and specifically to City Tech. Spanish for Heritage Speakers is an intermediate course intended for students who were immersed in or exposed to the language while growing up, but who have received little or no formal instruction in Spanish. Strengthens students’ competence in the oral and written standard varieties of Spanish by building on their previous knowledge to expand their vocabulary, strengthen their command of grammar, and achieve more confidence and fluency in speaking and writing while learning about the diversity of the Hispanic cultures. The skills acquired in this course will help reinforce students’ bilingual abilities and cultural competence. The minimum technological requirements for fully online sections of this course are a working camera and microphone. Students will be expected to turn on cameras and microphones at their instructor’s request.
