This course examines language use and its cultural underpinnings. Students will discuss world languages, dialects, English language varieties and social views on language users and dialects. Other sociolinguistic phenomena such as gendered language, African American English, regionalisms, etc. will be discussed.
MAT1190 Quantitative Reasoning Fall 2020
Students develop and apply mathematical, logical, critical thinking, and statistical skills to solve problems in real-world contexts. They acquire skills in the fields of algebra, geometry, probability, statistics, and mathematical modeling. The course incorporates opportunities within the classroom to develop students’ reading, writing, oral, and listening skills in a mathematical context.

Law and Paralegal Studies Club
Our club engages in many aspects of the law. We have in the past scheduled annual trips to the Court of Appeals in Albany and to the U.S. Supreme Court in Washington D.C.
