ENG 2575 is an ad­vanced course in ef­fec­tive tech­ni­cal writ­ing tech­niques, in­clud­ing tra­di­tional tech­ni­cal writ­ing forms and World Wide Web com­mu­ni­ca­tion. This course will have stu­dents use elec­tronic media such as In­ter­net, pre­sen­ta­tion, and graph­ics pro­grams to com­mu­ni­cate tech­ni­cal and sci­en­tific in­for­ma­tion to a va­ri­ety of au­di­ences via writ­ten and oral pre­sen­ta­tions. Stu­dents will also an­a­lyze read­ings in sci­ence and tech­nol­ogy, study tech­ni­cal writ­ing mod­els, and prac­tice col­lab­o­ra­tive re­search and pre­sen­ta­tion. Build­ing on pre­vi­ous writ­ing courses, this course will re­in­force clar­ity of think­ing and ex­pres­sion in ef­fec­tive and cor­rect Eng­lish. This is an asyn­chro­nous class — no spec­i­fied meet­ing times.

ENG 2575 is an advanced course in effective technical writing techniques, including traditional technical writing forms and World Wide Web communication. This course will have students use electronic media such as Internet, presentation, and graphics programs to communicate technical and scientific information to a variety of audiences via written and oral presentations. Students will also analyze readings in science and technology, study technical writing models, and practice collaborative research and presentation. Building on previous writing courses, this course will reinforce clarity of thinking and expression in effective and correct English. This is an asynchronous class — no specified meeting times.

An ad­vanced course in ex­pos­i­tory essay writ­ing that re­quires a li­brary paper. Fur­ther de­vel­op­ment of re­search and doc­u­men­ta­tion skills (MLA style). As­signed lit­er­ary and ex­pos­i­tory read­ings.

An advanced course in expository essay writing that requires a library paper. Further development of research and documentation skills (MLA style). Assigned literary and expository readings.

Top­ics in­clude an in-depth study of func­tions such as poly­no­mial func­tions, in­verse func­tions, rad­i­cal func­tions, ra­tio­nal func­tions, trigono­met­ric func­tions, ex­po­nen­tial and log­a­rith­mic func­tions; solv­ing in­equal­i­ties; el­e­ments of vec­tors and com­plex num­bers; solv­ing trigono­met­ric equa­tions and iden­ti­ties in­volv­ing sum, dou­ble and half-an­gle for­mu­las; Bi­no­mial The­o­rem; and pro­gres­sions. A graph­ing cal­cu­la­tor is re­quired. Pre­req­ui­site: MAT 1275 or CUNY Place­ment

Topics include an in-depth study of functions such as polynomial functions, inverse functions, radical functions, rational functions, trigonometric functions, exponential and logarithmic functions; solving inequalities; elements of vectors and complex numbers; solving trigonometric equations and identities involving sum, double and half-angle formulas; Binomial Theorem; and progressions.
