LIB 2205ID – D958 Learning Places: Understanding the City – Interdisciplinary
This special topics course offers an interdisciplinary approach to investigating our built environment using a case study focused on a specific place each semester. This course combines physical examination with information research and data collection using methodologies developed in multiple disciplines. Students from a variety of departments engage in on-site exploration and in-depth research of a location in New York City.

The Holy Cross Church is located in Manhattan 329 west 42nd street between 8th and 9th avenues in hells kitchen. it was built in 1854. It was designed by Henry Engelbert 1870. The demension are 100 feet from front 82 feet from the side. Up on top there is cross. It has stained glass window. The distance is 148 feet. It is red brick and terra cotta school facade was designed in the Romaneque Revival style. It opened December 15, 1850
