ENG2575 Technical Writing (D590), Spring 2020
ENG 2575 is an advanced course in effective technical writing techniques, including traditional technical writing forms and World Wide Web communication. This course will have students use electronic media such as Internet, presentation, and graphics programs to communicate technical and scientific information to a variety of audiences via written and oral presentations. Students will also analyze readings in science and technology, study technical writing models, and practice collaborative research and presentation. Building on previous writing courses, this course will reinforce clarity of thinking and expression in effective and correct English.
MAT2540 Discrete Structures and Algorithms II, Spring 2019
This course continues the discussion of discrete mathematical structures and algorithms introduced in MAT2440. Topics in the second course include predicate logic, recurrence relations, graphs, trees, digital logic, computational complexity and elementary computability.
LNG1100 Language, Culture, and Society, Fall 2018 (D899)
An introduction to the world of language and linguistics. Students explore the great diversity of world languages and develop an understanding of the genetic and geographical ties among them. They learn to appreciate language as an object of scientiļ¬c study and to apply their new knowledge to everyday social interactions in their own lives and communities. They examine the relationship of linguistic variation to social and cultural identity. Topics include multilingualism, language learning and preservation, spelling reform, and language policy.
