Naka­mura (Of­fice: V532) Course Desrip­tion: Ap­pli­ca­tions of CAD soft­ware in in­dus­trial plant de­sign. Cre­ation of 2D floor lay­outs with con­sid­er­a­tion given to pro­duc­tion quan­ti­ties; ma­te­r­ial flow; in­ven­tory con­trol; per­son­nel re­quire­ments; en­vi­ron­men­tal con­di­tions and re­straints; heat­ing and light­ing; equip­ment spec­i­fi­ca­tions. Al­ter­nate equip­ment place­ment con­fig­u­ra­tions are de­vel­oped to meet chang­ing pro­duc­tion needs. The stu­dent uti­lizes CAD soft­ware to de­velop the con­cepts and com­pletes the term pro­ject with a 2D plant lay­out and a 3D ren­der­ing of the re­quired fa­cil­ity.

Nakamura (Office: V532) Course Desription: Applications of CAD software in industrial plant design. Creation of 2D floor layouts with consideration given to production quantities; material flow; inventory control; personnel requirements; environmental conditions and restraints; heating and lighting; equipment specifications. Alternate equipment placement configurations are developed to meet changing production needs. The student utilizes CAD software to develop the concepts and completes the term project with a 2D plant layout and a 3D rendering of the required facility.
