Chun-wo Pat, MFA in graphic design from Yale University, is a New York-based designer, educator, and researcher. Pat is the founder and owner of Whitespace Integrated Design (est. 1996) which provides creative services to non-profit organizations, educational/cultural institutions, and business corporations. He has taught typography, data visualization, and cross-cultural design from private institutions to community colleges, and lectured at universities around the world. As one of the most highly regarded cross-cultural designers/typographers, Pat has written and published articles to advance the field and created many commissioned public projects with polylingual typography, both nationally and internationally.
My Courses
COMD 1100, Graphic Design Principle I, Fall 2020
This course explores the domain of visual thinking in the context of graphic design and visual communication. Students will investigate the techniques and concepts in an image-making process, evolving in six principal areas: data visualization, spatial design, packaging design, advertising design, corporate design, editorial design. Students will develop projects from sketches through final presentations.
