Stu­dents crit­i­cally read, an­a­lyze, and write about the pop­u­lar genre of the Gothic. As rep­re­sented in both lit­er­ary and vi­sual terms, in both Eu­rope and the United States be­gin­ning in the late-18th cen­tury to today. Key con­cepts in­clude hor­ror, haunt­ing, mad­ness, and mon­sters.

Students critically read, analyze, and write about the popular genre of the Gothic. As represented in both literary and visual terms, in both Europe and the United States beginning in the late-18th century to today. Key concepts include horror, haunting, madness, and monsters.

This is the open­lab course for Bi­ol­ogy 1101 Lab. The fun­da­men­tal prin­ci­ples of bi­ol­ogy focus on top­ics in­clud­ing tax­on­omy, struc­ture, nu­tri­tion, re­pro­duc­tion, hered­ity, de­vel­op­ment and evo­lu­tion. The con­cepts of mol­e­c­u­lar bi­ol­ogy and DNA fin­ger­print­ing using rep­re­sen­ta­tive plants and an­i­mals are in­tro­duced. The course also in­cludes the use and care of the mi­cro­scope.

This is the openlab course for Biology 1101 Lab. The fundamental principles of biology focus on topics including taxonomy, structure, nutrition, reproduction, heredity, development and evolution. The concepts of molecular biology and DNA fingerprinting using representative plants and animals are introduced. The course also includes the use and care of the microscope.
