Microeconomics is concerned with the behavior of buyers and sellers, how they interact with each other in markets, and how this interaction leads to the allocation of scarce resources and the distribution of output. This course introduces students to microeconomic principles with a focus on consumer behavior, firm costs and the prices that result from different market structures.

An exploration of concepts of justice, higher law, customary law and written law expressed through works of fiction and non-fiction. The course seeks to enhance the student’s sensitivity to issues of ethics, gender bias and class consciousness ans they affect the administration of justice. Readings improve communication skills and strengthen legal skills of identifying, articulating and locating problems in the context of underlying legal issues. Written assignments emphasize expository writing skills.
