Oracle Database Administration CST4714
This course is absolutely for beginners. This is applicable for those who would want to learn Oracle Database 11g. This course would be ideal for.. (a) Students who would like to jump into the world of Database Administration. (b) Students who would like to learn about Database concepts (c) Students who would like to get into Oracle Database Administration as soon as they finish their college. This course is mainly based on powerpoint slides and video tutorials.
CST 1101: Problem Solving with Computer Programming
This course introduces students to concepts of problem solving using constructs of logic inherent in computer programming languages. Students study the nature of problems, common solution approaches and analysis techniques. Students use a flowchart interpreter to diagram problem solutions. Students learn the basics of computer programming by learning Python 2.7. Both Python scripts and flowcharts enable students to construct solutions to common algorithmic problems. The major emphasis is on teaching the student to identify solutions to a problem and translate them into various forms that will enable the computer to perform some of the steps in a solution of an actual problem instance. These forms include flowcharting tool, viewing generated software code and the basics of debugging the code.
ENT 4499 Culmination Project FA 2021 β SP 2022
The senior thesis project, utilizing skills in an innovative way to develop a project that relates to the entertainment industry. Projects are developed through courses in the entertainment technology and/or emerging media technology programs. Projects require approval by the advisor and must demonstrate management, technical design and presentation skills. Documentation of planning, design and realization is presented to a committee of instructors, both in entertainment technology and related disciplines, as well as to industry professionals selected by the student and approved by the advisor. Though students enroll in this course during their senior year, development of the project should begin during the second semester of the junior year.
MTEC 3140 β Topics & Perspectives in Emerging Technology
This course is about understanding our role in both the propagation and dismantling of societal values through media production and consumption. It is also about recognizing the power and responsibility we each have as creators and consumers of media and technology to make sure we are building the future that aligns with the world we want to see.
Supervised laboratory in the technical areas of production. Hands-on experience in the planning, construction, rigging and running of productions to learn backstage procedures and operations in a performance situation. Emphasis placed on careful pre-planning, appropriate safety procedures, and on follow-up critiques and evaluation of the work done.

Computer Systems Technology Colloquium
The Computer Systems Technology (CST) Colloquium is dedicated to providing the students, staff, and faculty of New York City College of Technology, the City University of New York, and the greater public with access to information regarding the latest developments in computing from both a research and industrial perspective. We strive to schedule speakers that have a prominent influence in the computing field and that can engage our audience to have a deeper understanding and passion for computers, software engineering, programming languages, networks, and other topics.
Computer Information Association
The Computer is a student organization that provides a creative and safe learning environment where college students majoring in computer related courses and/or interested in computers and technology, work together with other students to explore their own ideas, develop skills, and build confidence in themselves through the use of technology. The computer club plan and organize projects and activities with the purpose of enhance technical skills and knowledge outside the classrooms and develop team work skills and interpersonal communications among the club members. Members will learn to appreciate and enjoy a variety of software applications and technologies including such technologies as web design, programming, networks, video games design, phone application design and multimedia presentations. The Citytech E-Sports club is a community that bring students together who have an interest in competitive gaming and gaming in general. The club aims to build a community where students can socialize, compete and express their passion for gaming and the competitive side to it. Members will be in a friendly environment where games are brought to a competitive level, being able to learn from each other, sharing strategies and developing new knowledge. The club also seeks to be able to compete at collegiate competitions at a national level. Other plans include hosting local prized gaming tournaments in the school itself.
