Bio

My name is Edward Henriquez and my major is communication design. I’m a transfer student from Borough of Manhattan community collage (BMCC) which means that this my first semester in city tech. The design industry is new to me so I’m kind of excited to see what I can learn from it. When it comes to design skills I really got none, especially since I don’t know how to use Photoshop, illustrator, InDesign, etc. But I’m really hoping that by graduation I will have the skills of an excellent graphic designer. I don’t like a lot of activities like party and going out a lot, but I do try to enjoy the time I spend with my friends when I do go out. I love to play games that’s my hobby, in my opinion I think I play too much, but I just got addicted to the games.
I love sports specially basketball and baseball, but I enjoy playing more basketball but due to and arm injury I can’t play for too long because I could get hurt and injure my hand even more. I speak two different language Spanish and English, I studied French when I was in Dominican Republic, but I never liked the language, then I decided to learn Italian back when I was in BMCC learn a little bit but now I can’t remember much of what I was though.

My Courses

COMD 1100, spr 2018

This basic design and color theory course explores graphic communication through the understanding of the elements and principles of design, as well as the design process, including idea development through final execution. This is a course in visual literacy and the design process: How we see, how we analyze the effects of our vision, and how we craft a design that will have energy and content. All projects will include thumbnail sketches, discussion and research. A weekly scrapbook will be kept. Media used are paint, paper, ink, pencil, ruler, knife, glue, and digital software for expressing graphic ideas. Numerous critiques will take place throughout the course and students’ active engagement in group discussion will play a vital role in establishing an atmosphere of collaboration and shared learning.
