Dr. Bruce, who just recently joined the administration at City Tech in mid-July, has an extensive background in student affairs administration. He has served as Assistant Dean for New Student Programs at Marquette University, Associate Dean of Student Development at Missouri Western State University, and most recently was Assistant Dean of Student Affairs at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs. Over his nearly 15 year career as a higher education administrator, he has worked across a number of student affairs areas including residence life, orientation, student conduct programs, student activities/student life, multicultural affairs, and new student orientation. Dr. Bruce’s research interests include the experience of people of color in higher education and his dissertation explored the impact the relationship between race/ethnicity and job satisfaction have on the retention of pre-tenure faculty. Dr. Bruce has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Missouri Western State University and Master of Science in Education and Doctor of Education degrees, both with an emphasis in Higher Education Administration, from the University of Kansas.
