This is an advanced course in communication skills, including the expository essay and the research essay. This course further develops students’ reading and writing skills through literary and expository readings. In this class students will write analytical essays on a variety of literary genres to cultivate interpretive skills. Using close reading, discussion and various writing techniques, you will consider language, details and style to develop your analytical and academic writing skills. This is a communications intensive course; you will be expected to participate actively in class discussions and presentations, write informal and formal essays, and respond to your classmates’ writing.

This course introduces students to the field of industrial design. It provides a framework for the development of design methodology. Students will use computers to create visual features of forms, configurations, patterns, and ornaments involved in the product design. Emphases will be placed on the multidisciplinary approach and the integration of design and engineering. Students are required to utilize the knowledge they learned to produce various design projects. Course Description:​ This course will introduce students to the engineering structures used in building constructions, in civil roadway and bridge constructions, as well as those used in mechanical engineering. First, students will be exposed to different types of structures. Next, students will learn the fundamental concepts of analysis and design. Finally students will study the primary structural elements in buildings, bridges, and mechanical systems. Students are required to produce design project using state of the art CAD/CAE software.
