Stu­dent Life & De­vel­op­ment

City Tech stu­dents par­tic­i­pate in clubs and or­ga­ni­za­tions, re­flect­ing a broad range of aca­d­e­mic and so­cial in­ter­ests. Work­ing closely with stu­dent clubs and the Stu­dent Gov­ern­ment As­so­ci­a­tion, Stu­dent Life and De­vel­op­ment pro­motes full par­tic­i­pa­tion and ac­cess to stu­dent events and ac­tiv­i­ties with­out re­gard to race, eth­nic­ity, gen­der, so­cioe­co­nomic sta­tus, age, re­li­gion, dis­abil­ity sta­tus, gen­der iden­tity, sex­ual ori­en­ta­tion or na­tional ori­gin. Pro­gram­ming de­vel­oped and/or spon­sored by the Of­fice of Stu­dent Life and De­vel­op­ment is or­ga­nized into four cat­e­gories: Lead­er­ship De­vel­op­ment Di­ver­sity Ed­u­ca­tion Com­mu­nity Ser­vice and Civic En­gage­ment So­cial and Com­mu­nity Aware­ness

Understanding the impact of climate change on building energy consumption

Un­der­stand­ing the im­pact of cli­mate change on build­ing en­ergy con­sump­tion

As an CRSP un­der­grad­u­ate Re­searcher Schol­ars/En­gi­neer hav­ing the abil­ity to dis­play, study and shed light on real time cli­mate sene­r­ios and vari­ables which are for­ever chang­ing along with its change to the mag­ni­tude of global warm­ing. By col­lect­ing var­i­ous data ex­ist­ing fac­tors, such as cool­ing and heat­ing de­mands, re­spec­tive re­sults are ob­tained to ac­count for en­ergy con­sump­tion. We are able to pre­dict & pre­vent waste­ful which re­sults in harm­ful cli­mate bur­dens im­pact­ing global warm­ing.

Undergraduate Research

Un­der­grad­u­ate Re­search

Re­al­iz­ing the value of the re­search ex­pe­ri­ence at the un­der­grad­u­ate level, this pro­ject is com­mit­ted to fos­ter­ing re­search op­por­tu­ni­ties for City Tech stu­dents. Fac­ulty and stu­dents can use this pro­ject as a place to share an­nounce­ments about re­search op­por­tu­ni­ties, as well as a place to offer in­for­ma­tion about the ex­pe­ri­ences stu­dents and fac­ulty have had in their re­search en­deav­ors. A hand­book on ef­fec­tive men­tor­ing, de­vel­oped by the Un­der­grad­u­ate Re­search Com­mit­tee, is cur­rently avail­able for down­load.

In­ter­na­tional Fa­cil­i­ties Man­age­ment (IFMA) Club

The club con­nects City Tech stu­dents to the world of IFMA. IFMA was “founded in 1980, IFMA is the world’s largest and most widely rec­og­nized in­ter­na­tional as­so­ci­a­tion for fa­cil­ity man­age­ment pro­fes­sion­als, sup­port­ing 24,000 mem­bers in more than 100 coun­tries.”

The pur­pose of the NYCCT IFMA stu­dent Fa­cil­ity Man­age­ment Stu­dent Club is to pro­mote pro­fes­sional de­vel­op­ment, net­work op­por­tu­ni­ties, ed­u­ca­tional ex­pe­ri­ences, com­mu­nity, ca­ma­raderie, alumni in­volve­ment, and aware­ness of the Fa­cil­i­ties Man­age­ment field.
