My Courses
MECH3600 Mechanical measurement and instrumentation Nakamura Spring2017
This course teaches technique, equipment and measurement procedures used by Mechanical Engineers
LIB2205 / ARCH2205 Learning Places, S2017
This special topics course offers an interdisciplinary approach to investigating our built environment using a case study focused on a specific place each semester. This course combines physical examination with information research and data collection using methodologies developed in multiple disciplines. Students from a variety of departments engage in on-site exploration and in-depth research of a location in New York City.
Composition 2, ENG 1121-E110, S2016
English 1121 continues the work we began in English 1101. We will work on developing critical reading and writing skills as we write about works of literature. We will discuss four literary genres: non-fiction essays, poetry, and the novel. Assignments will require students to write in different styles such as summary, citation, exposition, comparison, analysis, and research. In addition, we will utilize a new digital platform called OpenLab, which will help us to engage with each otherās writing and world outside of the classroom.
Research & Documentation for the Information Age
This course explores research and documentation for all media formats including text, images, sound, and multimedia. Students will explore information issues, especially in terms of their relevance today: how information is produced and organized in both traditional and emerging media, how information access is affected by political, economic and cultural factors, and the ethics of information use. Students will also acquire the practical skills of locating information sources in a variety of media and formats, critical evaluation of sources, and documentation and citation of traditional and emerging media and technologies. Students will apply what they learn to create and present research and documentation projects.
My Projects
Resources Matcher app(LIB 1201Group 3)
It is a headache when students need to find a lot of sources for their research. During the process of doing research papers, there is a great deal of information to shift through such as scholarly sources, internet sources, news sources, primary sources. No student has time to go through all these sources that does not help with the exact information they are looking for. It can result in irrelevant data being found which is frustrating if studentsā source is not much what they are looking for. Nobody wants to make this dreadful and time consuming mistake. Our research software- Resource Matcher, that we developed can handle this. It can quickly scan all your sources, then give you the percentage to closely match the studentās topic with the sources which shows an overview of the data like an abstract. The app can efficiently save studentsā time.
My Clubs
Mechanical Club (ASME Student Chapter)
Mechanical Engineering Club serves as a junior chapter of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) in City Tech. The club promotes hands-on learning through multidisciplinary design activities and exposing students to the latest emerging technology.
