Graphic Design Principles
COMD 1112 Sec.D108 Tuesday Digital Media Foundations
This course introduces students to core concepts underlying all digital media —graphic design, web, broadcast, animation, illustration and game design—that the ADGA department offers in its associate and bachelor degree program. Weekly lectures explain technical concepts such as resolution, compression, and color space, concepts that allow students to produce creative work across media with more predictable results. Students work with a variety of graphic arts software programs to reveal how the software application’s tools and menus incorporate the scientific principles discussed during lecture.
Black Theatre AFR1321 Friday Spring 2019
A study of African American dramatic literature to explore the complex ways in which the black experience is constructed and presented by playwrights. Students may have an opportunity to experience a theatrical production in New York City. More specifically, this course is divided into distinct sections. It includes a historical overview of early Black theatre throughout the diaspora. It considers how mid-twentieth century playwrights like Lorraine Hansberry, James Baldwin, Leroi Jones/Amiri Baraka, and Ntozake Shange shape the aesthetics and discourses within Black theatre, and in doing so, create trajectories for contemporary Black playwrights, who also explore the social, political and cultural experiences of Africana people.

Sustainable Technology Association
To analyze, design, and manage ways to improve the environmental and ecological conditions in the world around us.
City Tech Robotics Club is a student association operated by City Tech undergraduate students under the guidance of faculty advisors from City Tech Robotics Research Lab. The club hosts various events and conducts a broad range of student projects through the semesters. This club is open to all City Tech students, but was originally conceived for the students of the Advertising Design & Graphic Arts (ADGA) Department. We have formed to help bring traditional printmaking techniques back into the general awareness of our members in order to ground them more fully in the philosophy and heritage of graphic arts design and production. We work to offer informative lectures, presentations, exhibitions, demonstrations, and field trips for our students to explore all forms of printmaking, including but not limited to screenprint, relief, lithography, and intaglio.
A club dedicated to promoting environmental justice and “green” activities around the campus. Environmentalism isn’t just about global warming, but how continuous harm to our planet affects marginalized communities: pollution, climate change bringing more hurricanes, fracking, etc. The Planeteers is all about how a greener planet is a better planet for all.
