ARCH 1101 Intro to Architecture Fall 2022
Introduction to Architecture provides a foundation for students entering the BArch / BTech program to develop a “visual literacy” on the built environment. By practicing the basic skills of sketching, drafting, and reading about buildings, and with the opportunity to present their understanding to others through written assignments and verbal presentations, students will develop methods of representing and presenting architecture verbally and graphically.
A course in effective essay writing and basic research techniques including use of the library. Demanding readings assigned for classroom discussion and as a basis for essay writing. “Plato’s Cave” by Huang Yong Ping (2009), photograph by M. Behrent
