Citytech Top Picks – Mapping food Choices Around College

Citytech Top Picks – Mapping food Choices Around College

At Citytech, the dining options are somewhat limited, with just one cafeteria located in the Namm building. Unfortunately, its menu selection is also quite restricted, prompting many students to seek alternative meal options off-campus Understandably, students value accessibility, quality food, affordability, and a conducive environment for studying or socializing when choosing where to dine. For this project, we will create a map that shows the locations of the spots most recommended by students, includes the reviews, and also updates in real time. We will begin by conducting a survey to find out which bakeries, cafés, and restaurants are most popular among students. Through this survey, we aim to delve into the reasons behind their preferences, whether it’s the diverse menu offerings, the cozy ambiance, the affordability, or other factors contributing to their satisfaction. By collecting and analyzing this data, we aspire to compile a valuable resource that will benefit every student on campus. Sharing our findings will ensure that all students have access to information about the best dining options nearby, enhancing their overall campus experience. Next, we’ll create a map showing a ) .5-mile radius around the school in ArcGIS Pro. A link posted on campus will continuously collect student ratings. We’ll connect an RSS feed to the survey to the map so the most updated survey results will show up on the map.
