This lab­o­ra­tory course is a co-req­ui­site for Gen­eral Chem­istry – 1110. One three hour lab­o­ra­tory meet­ing per week and a total of 15 meet­ings per se­mes­ter.

An in­tro­duc­tory course in Lin­ear Al­ge­bra. Top­ics in­clude vec­tors, vec­tor spaces, sys­tems of lin­ear equa­tions, lin­ear trans­for­ma­tions, prop­er­ties of ma­tri­ces, de­ter­mi­nants, eigen­val­ues, and eigen­vec­tors.

An introductory course in Linear Algebra. Topics include vectors, vector spaces, systems of linear equations, linear transformations, properties of matrices, determinants, eigenvalues, and eigenvectors.

Eng­lish 1121 con­tin­ues the work we began in Eng­lish 1101. We will work on de­vel­op­ing crit­i­cal read­ing and writ­ing skills as we write about works of lit­er­a­ture. We will dis­cuss three lit­er­ary gen­res: non-fic­tion es­says, po­etry, and the short story. As­sign­ments will re­quire stu­dents to write in dif­fer­ent styles such as sum­mary, ci­ta­tion, ex­po­si­tion, com­par­i­son, analy­sis, and re­search. In ad­di­tion, we will uti­lize the City Tech dig­i­tal plat­form called Open­Lab (in ad­di­tion to Black­board), which will help us to en­gage with each other’s writ­ing and world out­side of the class­room.

English 1121 continues the work we began in English 1101. We will work on developing critical reading and writing skills as we write about works of literature. We will discuss three literary genres: non-fiction essays, poetry, and the short story. Assignments will require students to write in different styles such as summary, citation, exposition, comparison, analysis, and research. In addition, we will utilize the City Tech digital platform called OpenLab (in addition to Blackboard), which will help us to engage with each other’s writing and world outside of the classroom.

A con­tin­u­a­tion of MAT 1475. Top­ics in­clude Tay­lor poly­no­mi­als, Mean Value The­o­rem, Tay­lor and Maclau­rin se­ries, tests of con­ver­gence, tech­niques of in­te­gra­tion, im­proper in­te­grals, areas, vol­umes and ar­clength.

A continuation of MAT 1475. Topics include Taylor polynomials, Mean Value Theorem, Taylor and Maclaurin series, tests of convergence, techniques of integration, improper integrals, areas, volumes and arclength.
