Individual Strengths

University of Alabama’s, Crimson Tide’s head football coach, Paul “Bear” Bryant says, “It’s not the will to win, but the will to prepare to win that makes the difference.” I believe in change and as a nurse, I envision myself as a leader of change. In order to be a leader I commit myself to being reliable, determined to solving problems and making good decisions as well being held accountable to my team. As an experienced nursing team leader I have the ability to initiate and manage cross functional teams and multidisciplinary projects. Being a leader has reaffirmed the importance of delegation, working under pressure and resolving conflicts.

In order to best effect change, I hold myself to standards of honesty, sympathy, resourcefulness and learning quickly. I adapt to the new environment or changes in order to persist in adverse situations and don’t let them limit the patient’s best interest. Hospitalization can be a difficult situation for the patient and I strive to make the difference with genuine care. I speak on behalf of the patient in order to ensure the best care. The skills I have developed and grown through experience and advancing quickly have made me push myself harder to be better than before. I am self motivated, highly organized, manage time wisely and plan. It is in my nature to be proactive and persistent about effective ideas. My high levels of energy don’t wane at the end of the day, in fact – after work I come home and manage my household and go to class. I do this with the confidence that today my team has delivered the best possible care for any and every patient.
