Throughout the course of my school career, I have acquired many skills that have prepared me for my current career and is preparing for my future career as a Dental hygienist.  The three list below reflects my clinical, laboratory and other skills that I have acquired and continue perfect.

Laboratory Skills:

  • Basic laboratory skills such as pippetting, wastes disposal and safety procedures. 
  • Knowledgeable in the use of the 2100 Agilent Bioanalyzer and the 9700 Thermal cycler. 
  • Very familiar with the use of the 310 Genetic analyzer, PCR, GC, TLC, UV/VIS and IR instruments.  
  • Well informed in a wide variety of procedures such as Gel electrophoresis, RFLP analysis, mitochondrial DNA linear array, Chelex and Qiagen extraction methods, sequencing, STR typing using the Y filer and Profiler Plus kits from ABI.

Other Skills  

  • Proficient with DentiMax, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access and Power Point) and Agilent’s Chemstation Data Handling Software.
