Internship Journey

My internship has been a rewarding experience filled with challenges, growth, and creativity. Designing for real-life clients initially felt intimidating, but the supportive environment and constructive feedback helped me adapt quickly.

My first assignments, including restaurant menus and signage, taught me to balance creativity with practicality. One memorable project was designing a promotional drinks menu. As someone unfamiliar with drink layouts, I struggled at first, but with guidance, I refined the design and turned it into a valuable learning opportunity.

Collaboration was another significant aspect of my internship. Working with another intern on the same project taught me how to integrate different perspectives into a cohesive design.

I’ve worked on various projects, from restaurant menus to deli signage and t-shirt concepts. Each project has helped me improve my skills in layout design, typography, and branding while learning to adapt to client needs. My favorite project involved incorporating cultural elements into a vibrant menu design for an Indian restaurant, blending creativity with storytelling.

This internship has sharpened my technical skills in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign, while also enhancing my confidence in presenting ideas and handling feedback. Managing my time between school, work, and this internship has been challenging, but it has taught me to prioritize effectively.

This internship has been more than a professional opportunity—it has been a journey of personal and creative growth. I look forward to taking on more complex projects and applying the lessons I’ve learned to create impactful designs in the future.
