Welcome!

In the field of health administration services there are many opportunities and routes to take as there is a growing need for healthcare administrators. Through my research I learned some valuable information that can help me plan my route towards my career. A health service administrator is the process of “directing, supervising, and planning the delivery of medical treatment to patients”. Administrators must be familiar with government regulations, healthcare management, and business administration. To work in this field there is a required education of a bachelor’s degree to be entry level in this career, master’s degrees are also available to maximize your knowledge and salary. Starting salary for this field is approximately $113,730 with a bachelor’s degree but can depend on experience and where you would be managing. There are various places to manage such facility’s as, hospitals, clinics, physician offices, and or nursing homes. To manage in a nursing home an additional medical certification is needed. Something I learned through the facility I work in is almost all administrators lose right to the union that is provided by hospital. This can bring concern to me because that means I lose all insurance that I currently have and its easier for the company to fire associates. This is a manageable problem but something to be aware of.  Most of the information I gathered was online through (explorehealthcareers.org, and Study.com) and or prior knowledge through the hospital I work in.
