Field trip at the Microsoft center

 

On May 2, 2013, we went to a field trip at the Microsoft Center of New York. It was a field trip organized by the NSF STEM, for students majoring in science and technology at the New York City College of Technology. We had the opportunity to meet the employees at the Microsoft Center, and learn the importance of technology in this world.

Each one of the speaker were very opened to the questions of the students, they publically introduced themselves and take us to their journey in technology. One thing that is worth to be mention is that they were all form different background, which shows the diversity of the field. They didn’t all major Engineering, but because they were all passionate by the technology they were able to make it. They describe their role in the company and how they are able to manage the personal and professional lives. We experienced a design session, conducted by an expert, and he showed us the latest their technology the Microsoft is going to launch in the market.

At the end of the meeting, we were explored the art that of balancing a business requirement, how they deal with the requirement that a customer can bring to the table of business and how they negotiate with the customer.
