The materials for living project is about living simply and living well.  As such, this project is comprised of a number of different elements, purposes, and aims.  Underlying all of them is the goal of finding ways to use technologies to support ethical and sustainable living for peoples across the globe. The internet and the tools associated with it can be used in many ways. While a for-profit model for the use of these tools has been dominant to date, it is possible to use these tools in other ways.  For instance, to invest in local and community-run businesses, to share resources and information to live sustainably, to support fair trade and fair wage initiatives globally, and to direct capital–both that invested and spent–to organizations and businesses dedicated to supporting environmental and economic sustainability.
