After looking at some of the Trinkets I received, I see that several of you need some more time to work on your code. I’m extending the deadline for the Assignment #3 for tomorrow, midnight. Come see me during office hours today (12 – 1pm, rm N602B) if you need some help with the code and/or you have questions about Sample Exam #3 which didn’t get answered in class today.

Important dates:

Assignment #3 due by 10 am in class this Thursday, 11/8.

Exam #3 will be next Tuesday, 11/ 13, sections covered: 3.1, 3.2, 3.3.

Hi All,

As promised, I’m sharing my Python code for 3.1 worksheet problems #1, #2 and #3 here. The code in problem 3 wasn’t working properly in class because I had one line tabbed too far in on my loop – beware that nasty whitespace! It works fine now, feel free to sort with it. For a bit of practice, try translating he pseudo code for  Algorithm 6 Greedy Change-Making Algorithm from section 3.1 in your text (pg. 199). We can review in class on Tuesday before we move on to section 3.2.
