About Me…..

My journey to become a dental hygienist began 4 years ago, when, after being a dental assistant for 9 1 / 2 years , I would feel so bad and helpless when patients would walk into the office in pain because of cavities that were not treated. Most times the only solution was extraction. I knew that with proper education and preventive services that these situations can be avoided. I knew then what I had to do.

In the spring of 2011, I enrolled in the dental hygiene program at NYCCT, and never once regretted that decision.

Today I am only a few weeks away from graduation and the feeling of accomplishment is indescribable. I am doing it. I am educating patients and preventing pain and extractions. I am restoring smiles and confidence. I am making a difference. I am doing just I wanted to do.

It wasn’t always easy. It has been quite challenging at times, however, these challenges has better prepared me for the profession. The education and training I received here at citytech has proven to be invaluable and is reflected in the compliments and gratitude that the patients expresses each time. I will truly miss my friends, colleagues and faculty. They each has played an important  role in the dental hygienist that I have become. Thank you all for the love and support
