In the mentor text Reflections on Love and Family, the text hooks the audience on how the Mother and son are energetic and vibrant. You can picture the smiles on their faces as you listen to them. It really speaks to the part of the title Love and Family. The son tells us how he feels about the relationship he has with his Mother and vice versa, and how her cancer and heart attack made him think about the future. You can really feel the bond between them through how they speak to one another. It’s a very easy-going and lighthearted interview mixed in with some seriousness. The length of the video is 2 minutes and 36 seconds long. The primary audience is families. I think this is because the mother and son interview each other about how they think of each other and what the future will hold for them as time goes on. The text comes to an end with a funny moment where the son asks a question the Mother in not ready to answer. I think the creator’s message is about how you can reflect on the bond you have created with your loved ones and talk about how you see the future together as a family. I would like to emulate some of the light-heartedness that the Mother and son had along with some seriousness. I don’t think there’s any aspect of this video that I would avoid. It is exactly what I’m looking to do in my video interview as I want to give hope to single parents out there, that their child’s or children’s futures look bright.
