My research question is “Can VR be used as a medication for mental disorders?”. In my project, I will be presenting information on how VR is used on patients, if it is more effective than traditional therapy, and whether it will be exposed to the public or not. I intend to present this towards an audience of patients who currently suffer from mental disorders such as PTSD and anxiety, because VR therapy can be a new option for veterans with those disorders, who don’t have the resources of regular exposure therapy. I am considering using a video essay as a medium because it is a very compact and informative way to present an idea, as well as having visual ques through videos to present the idea as well. I’m probably going to start by creating my script because that’s what I need the most, and the video footage and audio can just be edited to match the pace I desire through my script. The only concerns I have so far are whether or not I can either find good audio or appropriate video footage. I also have concerns on whether or not my script will be properly sufficient or not. The mentor text I intend to use is Many Years After: City Tech’s Asian American Stories. by the CityTech committee.

I love the mentor text you are using. It has a lot of story telling. YOu will be making more of an informational video essay. However I am sure you will learn something from Many Years After.
