My research question is: How does music influence the human brain.
I would like to show the audience how something as simple as music offers a deeper connection to various regions of the brain. How it is also used as therapy for patients who are experiencing memory loss. I’ve learned that music has a long history, and the human brain has adapted to it over time. Today, it seems like music is just a part of our everyday lives. As this topic mostly talks about the brain, those interested in neurology are the main audience but also those who have family members who are experiencing memory loss. The genre will be an informative piece for the poster. I intend to place my research question in the center, with eight pages surrounding it. Each of these posters will represent different aspects of the brain that is affected while listening to music and how music influences it. I’m concerned about how the images will portray the parts of the brain correctly and not including TMI. The mentor text I’ll be using is the “The #1 way to strengthen your mind is to use your body | Wendy Suzuki”. This video shows how Suzuki was fascinated by the hippocampus, which led her to discover this phenomenon. Also, because she is a professor in neural science, I can obtain some examples in her work and use it similarly in my posters.
Hi Carlos. I found your topic interesting especially the fact it relate to brain study. It’s somewhat similar to my topic. As you mentioned, “those interested in neurology are the main audience but also those who have family members who are experiencing memory loss.” This intrigued me to be more curious about how music can change people mental health. Also, I love listening to songs. So, I’m looking forwards to see your progress in poster of 8 pages you’ll be working on. Good luck.
