Project Proposal – Jelani Creary

Research Question: Why does nuclear energy have a negative perception despite its advantages?

The audience should be able to learn a couple facts about how safe and reliable nuclear power is. The target audience are activists and people looking for reliable clean energy sources. However anyone without any prior knowledge of nuclear energy should be able to learn from this video and have their perception changed. I’ll be presenting the information as a video essay. I’ll first get started by writing a script and then making the video. I can’t find the mentor texts i’ll just choose one later

  2. If you don’t like one of these — you can find on your own a mentor text — this should be a video essay that you like because you like its structure. You will analyze how it is put together in the HW2 next.

    • What mentor text you will be using? Choose a mentor text from inside the Unit 3 Genre Project Assignment.  (NOTE: The mentor text is NOT a student example.)  In the Unit 3 Assignment — Go to the Option for the Genre you are choosing and see the list of Mentor Texts. Choose one.
  3. This sounds like an excellent topic for a video essay. You’re tackling an important issue that has a lot of potential to educate and change perspectives. Focusing on the safety and reliability of nuclear energy is a great angle, and making it accessible for people without prior knowledge will broaden its impact. I’m confident your script will make a compelling case.
